Official-looking images of the HTC One Max have emerged online, suggesting that the company's first phablet is just around the corner.

The above image appeared over the weekend through the ever on-the-ball smartphone tipster, @evleaks. The source referred to the images as "non-final artwork," suggesting that there could be a couple of cosmetic tweaks to the launch model.

Still, these look pretty finished to us. You can see much of the HTC One's design language in here, with the only notable differences at this point being the position of the camera flash and the somewhat less-than-classy plastic rim running around the side of the device.

This image appears to tally with the leaked HTC One Max photos we reported on last week, when hastily taken snaps of the giant smartphone appeared on a Taiwanese website.

We're expecting the HTC One Max to sport a 5.9-inch 1080p display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU and 2GB of RAM.

HTC's UltraPixel camera should make the cut, having impressed with its low-light performance - if not its general image quality. There are also reports that the One Max will come with expandable storage in the shape of a microSD slot, which is one advantage over the original HTC One.

Another claim has it that the HTC One Max could come with a stylus, like the ill-fated HTC Flyer. More importantly, of course, such a feature would match-up with the Samsung Galaxy Note range, which is evidently what HTC is shooting for here.

It's suggested that we could see the HTC One Max make an appearance at next month's IFA event, which is being held in Berlin. Stay tuned for more.
