New renders purportedly showing off the HTC One M9+ have emerged, just one week before the device’s expected launch.
The leaked images come courtesy of prolific tipster Upleaks, offering clues as to what we can expect for the much-mooted One M9 spin-off.
Most notably, the rear of the device appears to revive the duo-camera set-up we first saw on the HTC One M8.
This dual-sensor approach was dropped on the One M9, so it’s odd that HTC has hedged its bets with the tech.
The renders also reveal a physical home button on the front bottom bezel of the device, which is widely tipped to be a fingerprint sensor.
Biometric scanning is an increasingly prevalent technology in the smartphone space, with both Apple and Samsung having included fingerprint sensors on their flagship smartphones. LG is also expected to include a scanner on its upcoming LG G4.

Otherwise, there’s not a huge difference in terms of design between the HTC One M9+ and HTC One M9 – the two-tone chassis is also being carried over.
The new device will be bigger, of course, as clued by the ‘+’ moniker – we’re expecting a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution 5.2-inch display, up on the One M9’s 5-incher.
It’s also likely we’ll say an octa-core MediaTek MT6795T chip, 3GB of RAM, and a 20.1-megapixel rear-facing camera.
The HTC One M9+ is expected to launch on April 8, although it’s still not clear when the device will actually go on sale.
