HTC has announced that it is bringing the HTC One M9+ to Europe after all.
After the disappointment that was the HTC One M9, eyes swiftly turned to the much rumoured and leaked HTC One M9+.
When it did launch in April, however, it did so as a China exclusive. At the time, HTC revealed that the handset “is not currently planned to be released in North America or Europe.”
Some three months later, the beleaguered manufacturer has now changed its tune, and the HTC One M9+ will be hitting Europe soon.
Lest you forget, the HTC One M9+ is a considerable improvement over the underwhelming HTC One M9 in a number of areas. It has a bigger and sharper 5.2-inch QHD display, and a different octo-core 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 CPU.
We’re not sure whether that has the same raw power as the Snapdragon 810 of the HTC One M9, but presumably it doesn’t have the same disconcerting habit of overheating.
HTC has also reinstated the Duo Camera arrangement from the HTC One M8, adding a depth sensor element to the existing 20-megapixel camera.
The final addition of note is a fingerprint sensor, which is positioned under the display. It looks rather like a home button, but there’s no function to it beyond biometric security, but that should see to being compatible with Android Pay when it launches later in the year.
You still get 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot.

That’s it for details at present. We’re not sure exactly when the HTC One M9+ is hitting shops in Europe, or how much it’ll cost when it arrives. It’s just good to know that it’s happening.
