Google’s Android M announcement will have left anyone with an older handset worried over whether they’ll ever see the upgrade.
Fortunately for owners of the HTC One M8, the handset is now confirmed to receive the Android M upgrade. Eventually, anyway.
Responding to a Twitter user, HTC’s VP of Product Management Mo Versi said: “Yes, the M8 will receive the M OS update.”
Google unveiled Android M at its annual I/O developer conference earlier this year, although it’s still keeping quiet on what the ‘M’ actually stands for – Mars Bar, Marshmallow, Milky Way perhaps?
There’s still no exact release date, although it’s expected that it will launch alongside two new Nexus smartphones in Q4 this year.
That said, the HTC One M8 likely won’t receive the update until later, at some point during early 2016.
