The follow-up to the recently announced HTC One M9 has been leaked, but the truly surprising thing about the HTC One E9 is that it could trump HTC's new flagship phone.
When HTC announced HTC One M9, you could cut the disappointment with a knife. While it's true that it's a stylish, premium smartphone, the truth is that it's barely changed from last year's HTC One M8.
If you thought hat HTC had lost the ability to surprise, though, then check out the recently leaked information concerning the HTC One E9.
While last year's HTC One E8 was a more affordable version of the HTC One M8, the One E9 looks like a step above the One M9 in a number of key areas.
The E9 will also have a flatter design than that One M9, as you can see from the accompanying image.
There may be two versions of this phone to ship - one with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, and one with the One M9's 4-megapixel UltraPixel example.

It may not be a total upgrade though. Upleaks reckons that the HTC One E9 will be powered by a MediaTek MT6795 CPU. This chip may be 64-bit, but it's still likely to represent a downgrade from the M9's Snapdragon 810.
The latter spec splurge confirms the display type, and also reveals that the E9 will have 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 20-megapixel main camera, and BoomSound speakers.
