HTC One E9+ announced in China

The HTC One E9+ is now official after it appeared on the manufacturer’s Chinese website.

We’ve been seeing leaked specs and images for the HTC One E9 for the past few weeks, and now HTC seems to have quietly made the phone official.

Over on HTC China’s website, the HTC One E9+ is now listed, complete with a number of detailed images.

The website clarifies a few things about the mid-range smartphone and clouds a few others.

For example, we learn from it (albeit through Google Translate) that the HTC One E9 will in fact have a “metal body” – it’s just the rear cover that seems to be plastic.

Somewhat confusingly, while most of the blurb talks about the HTC One E9+’s 5.5-inch 2K UHD display, the drop-down product specifications list a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display.

Similarly, the product pages speak of the One E9+ as having a 20-megapixel camera (and a jolly large one it appears to be too), while the product specifications refer to a 13-megapixel camera. So which of these is right?

We’re guessing that this ‘plus’ model actually does have the 2K display and the 20-megapixel camera, and that the lower specs have been mistakenly inserted from the yet-to-be-announced regular E9.

The rest of the product specifications mention a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot. We’ll have to wait and see if any of these are different for the final One E9+ model, as well as when the phone will be available and how much for.
