HTC has just announced a new entry to its affordable mid-range smartphone line-up – the HTC Desire 626.
It’s being peddled as the successor to last year’s HTC Desire 620, and will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop straight out of the box.
“Our new HTC Desire 626 is designed to give you the most customised personal user experience,” says Peter Frolund, HTC”s GM for the UK.
He adds: “Packed full of advanced features, we are delivering the very best in terms of personalised design and performance, as well as great value, to our customers.”
HTC Desire 626 features
The HTC Desire 626 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked to 1.2GHz.
It’s got a 5-inch 720p LCD display – that’s the same panel that appeared on the Desire 620.
When it comes to photography, on hand is a 13-megapixel main camera with a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter to boot.
You get 16GB of built-in storage as standard, but an on-board MicroSD slot is good for 512GB of additional storage.
The HTC Desire 626 will be available in a rainbow-fondling array of colours that include White Birch, Blue Lagoon, Purple Fire, and Dark Grey.

Carphone Warehouse will be peddling the new handset, as well as O2 and Three.
A UK release date hasn’t been confirmed, nor has pricing, but the HTC Desire 620 retailed at £170 so expect a mark-up in that region.
