HTC Desire 600 unveiled as dual SIM quad-core offering

The HTC Desire 600 has been formally unveiled as a dual SIM, quad-core Android device, rekindling the Taiwanese manufacturer’s once dominant Desire range.

Destined for Eastern Europe and MEA markets at launch, the newly unveiled HTC Desire 600 sees Beats audio capabilities paired with a dual SIM option design to aid a smoother transition between business and personal lives. There is currently no word on a UK arrival.

“People rely on their smartphones every day to be their news channel, email inbox, social network and music player,” Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation said. “The HTC Desire 600 dual sim combines speed and easy multitasking with the truly innovative HTC BlinkFeed home screen.”

He added: “The result is an affordable mid-range phone that sets the standard for its class, keeping the busiest user up-to-date at a glance and offering them the power and range of features to switch between work and play.”

HTC Desire 600 Features

While it might not trouble the HTC One as the company’s flagship device, the HTC Desire 600 is no slouch. Packing a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, the Desire 600 sees 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD, thrown into the mix.

Lining up at 9.26mm thick and 130g in weight, the HTC Desire 600 boasts a 4.5-inch qHD display, with an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera partnered by a second, 1.6-megapixel snapper up front.

An NFC capable handset, the HTC Desire 600 features HTC BoomSound audio, with dual front-facing speakers hosting in-built amps. Forgoing 4G connectivity options, the handset sees the usual 3G and Wi-Fi connections incorporated.

HTC Desire 600 Release Date and Price
While HTC Desire 600 UK release date has yet to be confirmed, HTC has revealed the handset will hit Russian, the Ukraine and MEA markets starting in early June. A HTC Desire 600 price has yet to be announced.
