HTC’s flagship One X smartphone, along with the One XL (its 4G/LTE variation available in some countries) and the One S, are all in line to get an OS upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon.
The company is quoted by the AusDroid website, saying: “We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”
Although that website is Australian, it’s a fairly safe bet that HTC will be rolling out the update internationally in a short space of time, once the firmware update is ready.
Slashgear reports that HTC says the update “is for all versions worldwide, including the carrier-specific versions in the US.”
There is no specific word on the entry-level One V or any other models in HTC’s statement, but that may come as part of its later updates.
