HP has officially announced the oft-teased HP Stream 14 Windows 8.1 laptop.
Specs for the 14.1-inch notebook were leaked out last month touting the device as an affordable answer to the growing popularity of Google Chromebook laptops.
The laptop was scheduled to appear at the IFA tech show in Berlin last week, but HP help back on the launch until Monday.
That’s around the same as HP charges for its nearly-identical Chromebook notebook.
For their cash, users will get an 1,366 x 768 resolution touchscreen display, AMD AR Micro-6400T Quad processor (which integrates graphics) and 2GB of RAM.

There’s only 32GB of storage, but that can be boosted through the presence of a MicroSD slot, while buyers will also get 100GB of free Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage for two years after purchasing the device
HP promises the Stream 14 will offer 6 hours and 30 minutes of battery life, while there’s a HDMI out, one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. It’ll be 0.70-inches thick and weights in at 3.8lbs.

- The HP Stream 29.4cm (11.6-inch) is expected to be available in Dixons and HP Store from 26th November for a starting price of £179.
- The HP Stream 33.7cm (13.3-inch) is expected to be in Dixons and HP Store from 26th December for a starting from £199.
- The HP Stream x360 is expected to be available from the end of the year for a starting price of £249.
- The HP Stream 7 Tablet is expected to be available in Dixons and HP Store from December for a starting price of £99.99.
- The HP Stream 8 Tablet is expected to be available online at HP Store from December for a starting price of £159.99 with HP DataPass.
