HP teases its 2133 Mini Note successor.
We’ve been holding out for details of an updated HP 2133 Mini Note for a while now, and it seems it hasn’t been in vain. There’s precious little information to go by, but the ‘leak’ appeared on HP’s shopping site so at least we can safely assume it’s genuine.
We know then, that the Mini Note 1000 will weigh under 2.5lbs (1.3Kg) and have a chassis under one inch (2.5cm) thick. After that we’re in speculative territory although a few details are revealed by the imagery, such as the $399.00 starting price.
It’s seems pretty clear the Mini Note 1000 will boast a larger screen than the 2133 version, assuming they share a chassis, as the bezel is notably reduced. Hopefully the resolution will remain as relatively high as the previous version – preferably being upped (slightly) to 1,280 x 800.
If we’re lucky HP will either have made the jump to Intel’s Atom platform, or be the first to implement VIA’s Nano CPU. The latter would be interesting to see in a netbook format, as so far we’ve only seen desktop systems sporting the chip.
Eyes peeled, people, there’s bound to be more details emerging over the next few days.
