The launch date for Huawei spin-off brand Honor’s next flagship smartphone is now official.
The company posted an image pointing to the launch of the upcoming Honor 7 as June 30 on its official Weibo page.
Its grand unveiling is set to take place in China, although it’s not clear whether the phone’s release will fall on the same day.
A fingerprint on the poster also teases the inclusion of a biometric scanner for the Honor 7, just like Touch ID on Apple’s iPhone 6.
So what else do we know about the Honor 7? Previous rumours point to a metal chassis and a 5-inch 1080p display.
The handset is also tipped to make use of 3GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage.
It’s expected that the device will be powered by a Kirin 935 processor, which is part of Huawei’s custom-built mobile chip line-up.
Shooting potential comes courtesy of a mooted 13-megapixel camera, purportedly boasting autofocus, an LED flash, and optical image stabilisation.
The device will likely run off Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which looks set to be skinned with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1.

It’s still not clear whether the Honor 7 will ever make it to the UK. The Honor 6 did land in Blighty, so our fingers are crossed for an imminent launch.
