Honor 6 lands as ‘world’s fastest’ smartphone

Honor 6

Huawei is launching a slightly less tongue-twisting smartphone brand to help tap into the online consumer market, retailing exclusively through Amazon.

The Chinese tech firm’s new range is kicking off with the Honor 6, a handset Huawei is tagging up as the world’s fastest 4G phone.

The Honor 6 was actually already announced earlier this year, but it’s finally set to land in the UK and Europe starting tomorrow.

The Android blower sports a 5-inch full HD screen, and comes in black and white colour options.

Inside there’s a Kirin 920 octa-core SoC, with four cores clocked at 1.7GHz and the other four running at 1.3GHz.

There’s also 3GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, and a microSD slot to boot.

The Honor 6 also touts a decent snapper set-up, with the rear sensor measuring up at 13-megapixels, while the front-facing shooter comes in at 5MP.

Battery life should be good for ‘more than a day’ of heavy use too, according to Huawei. That’s thanks to a sizeable 3,100mAh li-ion battery.

Huawei’s giving much praise to the phone’s 4G potential too, with the Honor 6 packing in CAT 6 LTE technology that should be good for 300Mpbs – should your cellular data provider be so kind.

Unfortunately for denizens of Blighty, there’s no network currently pumping out such high speeds. EE is your best bet, with the network promising up to around 100Mpbs in some parts of the capital.

The Honor 6 is being peddled across the continent at 299 euros, which should mean it will rock a UK mark-up of somewhere around £236.
