Hive has begun selling connected home equipment to accompany its latest smart thermostat.
The British Gas-owned Hive brand launched its second Active Heating thermostat in July of last year. It marked a stylish advance on the rather rudimentary original.
Perhaps most excitingly of all, the Hive Active Heating 2 heralded a wider range of interconnected smart home devices from the company, including light bulbs and motion sensors.
Now Hive has finally begun selling some of those additional smart home devices. Head on over to the Hive website, and you'll find four new devices available to buy now.
The Hive Active Plug and the Hive Window or Door Sensor can now be purchased, while the Hive Motion Sensor is still listed as 'Coming soon'. As Engadget reports, this device is set to go on sale from February 9.
Hive's Active Plug will set you back £39, and lets you control 'dumb' appliances remotely through a smartphone app.
The Hive Window and door sensors, meanwhile, cost £29 each. These small sensors will push alerts to your smartphone when your door or window is opened or closed.
If you're not already onboard the Hive train, you'll also need to splash out £80 for the Hive Hub, which controls the whole ecosystem.
