Hitman will now release on March 11, 2016 – here’s what it comes with at launch

IO Interactive has announced that Hitman will now launch on March 11, 2016, complete with a new “intro pack” option.

After delaying the title to 2016 last week, Square Enix has confirmed that IO Interactive’s new Hitman title will launch on March 11, 2016.

Square Enix also detailed what would be included in the “Digital Launch Package” that will release alongside the game.

The digital launch package will feature “initial launch content” which includes the Paris, Sapienza and Marrakesh locations, totalling in six campaign missions.

All of the locations and missions will be replayable thanks to the user-created Contracts mode, which allows players to mark new targets for assassinations.

“For Contracts mode, you’ve got a combined pool of around 800 targets to craft your devious Contracts from, which means we’re expecting fantastic things,” IO Interactive explained.

Live content updates will also begin in March, updates will add “time-limited targets, weekly IO developed Contracts, and promoted content built by the very best of you out there.”

Following the initial release, IO Interactive will release a new sandbox location each month until the end of June.

Each new sandbox location will feature its own missions, contracts and unique assassination targets.

“Of course [each location will have] new disguises, weapons ,and ways of taking out your target. April takes you to Thailand, May will see you visiting the United States of America, and June sends you across the globe to Japan.”

IO Interactive has confirmed that the full version of Hitman will retail for $59.99 (around £50) which will give you access to everything.

An alternative version of the game, called the Intro Pack, will be available for $34.99. The Intro Pack will grant you access all content released in March when the game launches, but no post-launch content.

The option to upgrade will be available for $29.99, which is roughly £20 in the UK.
