Hisense’s new 4K TVs are here – and they’re £400 less than their nearest rivals

Hisense has unveiled its latest 4K TVs which come with HDR support and some very tempting price tags.

The 65-inch models of the M550 and K5510 are available in silver and black respectively and can be picked up now for £899.

Both sets come with 4K support and are capable of upscaling standard definition footage to Ultra HD resolution.

But perhaps more interesting is the HDR support, which means the M5500 and K5510 should provide a more vibrant picture with more natural colours and extremely detailed scenes.

Of course, the source content needs to be HDR in order for the feature to work, but the technology is set to be the next big thing when it comes to TVs, so there’s an element of future-proofing on the new sets.

Elsewhere, Hisense’s new models come packing quad core processor, which should mean their smart TV platform runs fluidly.

You’ll also find Wi-Fi support and an Ethernet port, plus a load of included apps such as YouTube, 4K Amazon Prime Video, 4K Netflix, and BBC iPlayer.

In terms of ports there’s four HDMI connections, two of which are the latest HDMI 2.0 version with HDCP 2.2 so you’ll be able to hook up an Ultra HD Blu-ray player.

There’s also three USB inputs including one USB 3.0 port, and an optical connection for adding a soundbar or surround sound receiver.

And finally, Hisense says the dbx Total Technology audio enhancements will deliver ‘an astonishing aural experience’ – which we’re obviously yet to confirm.

The company has always managed to undercut the more premium offerings from its rivals but it’s nice to see Hisense sticking to this approach with its latest releases.

And while we’re yet to test out the latest models. we’ve been impressed with the company’s offerings in the past so expect good things from the M5500 and K5510.
