Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has reflected on his recent world tour in search of the world’s “newest technology.”
Now that Hideo Kojima is finally free from Konami’s grasp, he and some friends from Sony Computer Entertainment decided to take a short trip around the world.
According to Kojima, the purpose of the journey was to discover the “newest technology” in the world today, and it seems he did just that.
Throughout his journey, Kojima paid a visit to renowned studios such as Media Molecule, Quantic Dream and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J Abrams.
Conclusion: Kojima has some super cool friends, and ambitious plans for his upcoming project at Sony.

This past weekend, Kojima posted a lengthy statement on his Twitter, which you can check out below:
“Game industry’s always been depended on the technology. Technology evolves on daily so as hardware and software. That’s why you need to keep running. The one who runs at his/her best, the one who runs strategically, the one who runs on his/her pace, the one who seeks the opportunity while running in the 2nd pack. You don’t need to be in the 1st pack all the time.”
“But once you take a break you will get way behind from the pack. I’ve visited in various studios and all of them have kept running without any rest. Such sense of distance was our ‘shared language.’ I can ‘keep running’ because such top groups exist all over the world.”
Kojima’s passion for his craft is contagious, and his bromantic journey with Sony’s Mark Cerny was weirdly adorable to watch unfold.

Kojima officially left Konami in December 2015, soon after he announced the formation of his new studio, Kojima Productions.
The developer quickly formed a publication deal with Sony, who confirmed that Kojima’s next game will be exclusive to the PS4.
