Here’s the most downloaded Nintendo Switch title of 2017

Stardew Valley was the most popular download on Nintendo Switch in 2017, beating out the likes of Minecraft and Super Mario Odyssey.

Despite only launching on Nintendo’s hybrid console in October, ConcernedApe’s beloved farming simulator dominated the platform’s digital marketplace.

Minecraft was relegated to second place by the charming adventure, although did manage top honours in Japan, sharing the chart with the likes of Senran Kagura and assorted retro ports.

Having originally launched for the PC over two years ago, Stardew Valley has since been ported to PS4, Xbox One and, most recently, Switch.

Some of the other most-popular digital titles include Sonic Mania, Snipperclips, Overcooked and SteamWorld Dig 2. It seems independent games are finding great success on Switch.

Here at Trusted we’ve already lost hours upon hours to tending our farms and falling head-over-heels for the village sweetheart, so it’s easy to see the appeal Stardew Valley has.

The development team of Stardew Valley has been working on a significant content update that will include co-operative multiplayer alongside new events, tools and more. You can even marry other players!
