Here’s why iOS 9.3 update could be Apple’s best yet

With every software release come the complaints about buggy features, but it’s not always as bad as it seems.

Apple’s new iOS 9.3 software is the ‘most stable new release in years’, according to an app analytics firm.

Apteligent says that the crash rate for the new version is surprisingly low, as reported by Apple Insider.

Over the eight days since launch, the crash rate has averaged out at just 2.2%.

Many of the previous software updates have risen to 3.2% and above, including iOS 8, iOS 9.0, iOS 9.2, and iOS 9.2 in the past week, which suggests that iOS 9.3 is the most stable software currently in circulation.

What’s more, it’s a lower crash rate than the one reported for the latest version of Android, which currently sits at around 2.6%.

The report is particularly interesting because lots of media attention has been given to the issues with iOS 9.3.

Some of the commonly reported issues include users being stuck on the Activation Lock screen (now fixed), issues with Spotlight search, and a laggy UX.

Apple is also aware of reports that web links are crashing Safari, Mail, and Messages apps. A fix is already in the works.
