Even renowned tech billionaires aren’t immune from hack attacks. Enter Mark Zuckerberg.

Hackers briefly gained access to a number of social media profiles belonging to the CEO of Facebook. According to a new report by Engadget, Zuckerberg’s Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn accounts were compromised and, in some cases, defaced. Facebook’s PR team has since denied that Zuckerberg’s Instagram was accessed, however.

On Twitter, hackers posted as Zuckerberg himself, revealing his password to the CEO’s followers:

The hacker’s own Twitter account – @_OurMine_ has now been suspended. On Pinterest, meanwhile, Zuckerberg’s header was changed to ‘Hacked By OurMine Team’:

And the hackers also told Zuckerberg that they had access to his LinkedIn account:

The hackers claimed that the accounts were accessed because Zuckerberg’s login details were part of a recent LinkedIn password dump. The suggestion is that Zuckerberg’s passwords were the same (or similar) across multiple accounts, which means the password dump granted access to several of the CEO’s social profiles.

The lesson here is this: go change your LinkedIn password, if you haven’t already. And if your other passwords are the same or similar, go change those too.
