HELP! Intel Execs & PR Sleep Rough

Has the money has gone out of IT...? Well, they certainly need your cash.

ATTENTION: INTEL PR SEEN ON THE STREETS… SENIOR EXECS SET TO FOLLOW!

No AMD hasn’t just won its multibillion dollar lawsuit, instead the world’s largest chip manufacturer has revealed its softer side by sleeping out rough for a night to aid the homeless.

NCH, a charity supporting young homeless, is the worthy benefactor and Intel UK PR guru, and thoroughly nice bloke, Nick Knupffer will be out there leading the campaign along with nine of the company’s senior executives. Friday 23 September is the night their collective toes get chilly and they hope to raise over £15,000. We grabbed Nick, pre-pneumonia, for a quick chat:

(Image:sleepout)

”TR: What motivated you to do this?”

NK: It is an excellent charity to support, plus Intel will ”match” any contributions made to this charity via the website link https://www.bmycharity.com/V2/nknupffer

”TR: Have you ever slept rough before?”

NK: Yes, in Scouts when I was younger and then in the British Army (I was in the OTC at University), oh I also did that on the side of a Welsh mountain during my Honeymoon – but I have never slept rough in a city before.

”TR: Were you drunk at the time?”

NK: Nope!

”TR: Will you be drunk this time?”

NK: Not unless you come down and buy me drinks (“Journalist buy drinks?! Fat Chance” – Gordon), I might bring a tipple or two to keep me warm though!

”TR: Any words you’d like passed on, in case you don’t make it?”

NK: Can someone explain the rules of cricket to me?

”TR: Who are the other execs?”

NK: I think if you come down, you will see the Intel UK Country Manager Graham Palmer and our EMEA General Manager Christian Morales plus others also braving the biting cold and savage winds.

Personally speaking, I can’t think of anything better than chucking a few quid the way of these sporting fellows… plus, I also believe doing that entitles you to head down to Potters Field, London SE1 (Opps, slipped out!) and quiz them at great length on any topic you like… In addition, if there are any other IT execs you would like to see out on their ear, now is a good time to build some peer pressure. I’d like to see AMD big cheeses stretched out alongside them or at least see some donations – though its current liable argues Intel has fleeced them enough in recent years as it is 😉

To back up Nick’s words, please do remember to sponsor him here: https://www.bmycharity.com/V2/nknupffer. And ”Don’t Forget”: Intel says it will ”’MATCH”’ any donations given through the site.

We’ll update this with post-slumber pics when we get em. ”Go pledge, go pledge!”
