Helix is a bracelet that contains a pair of Bluetooth headphones

A home for your headphones

Helix isn't your typical wearable. Instead of tracking your heart rate and calories burned, it houses a pair of Bluetooth headphones.

Instead of winding up your headphones or chucking them in your bag to get tangled, they fit inside this sleek bracelet that you wear on your wrist. Pair them with your smartphone over Bluetooth and you can start listening.

The Bluetooth is housed in a case that dangles below your chin, which we're not too sure about. We could see it being annoying, having a weight hanging there. We're also not fans of the cheesy video on the Kickstarter page, which says the device will let you live by your own rules.

But it doesn't look too bad. The firm's chief designer is Mika Nenonen, who was former lead ID designer at Nest and Nokia, so it has plenty of design pedigree.

It's a shame the wristband doesn't work as a fitness tracker. It feels like the firm missed a trick. But we can see it being handy not getting your headphones tangled up.

Helix closes with a magnetic clasp, so should fit most wrist sizes. It comes in white and black, with aluminium accents that are either silver or champagne gold. Or you can plump for the gold edition that has a bright red cuff and 18-carat plated-gold embellishments. You fancy pants, you.

It's raised over half of its $100,000 funding goal with 55 days to go. If successful, it will ship in December.
