Cast your mind back to before May 19th 1999, to a time when only three Star Wars films existed and all we had was love for one of the greatest film trilogies ever made and expectation for what joy we may get from the upcoming prequels. They were good times, and it's those memories that we celebrate today, on unofficial Star Wars day!
Why today? Well it's the 4th of May, or as the Americans would say, May the 4th. So of course, it didn't take long for someone to see the correlation between that date and Star Wars' most famous phrase 'May the force be with you.' So, if you have a moment this evening, kick back with friends and family alike and enjoy one or all of those great films again. Personally, I'm distinctly jealous of a certain Chris Moyles who plans to watch the first film on his R2-D2 projector! Just don't let anyone catch you indulging in those prequels!*
So, without further ado, May the 4th be with you!
* - Well, maybe you could watch them ironically.
