Halo Spartan Strike

Halo: Spartan Strike is launching today for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iPhone, iPad and Steam.

Originally expected to launch in December, Halo: Spartan Strike is instead launching today, some four months later than expected.

Developed in conjunction with 343 Industries, Microsoft Studios and Vanguard Games, Halo: Spartan Strike is the second top-down shooter for mobile devices and PC.

Spartan Strike tells a new story set during the events of Halo 2 on New Mombasa in 2552.

You play as a Spartan supersoldier embroiled in a classified ONI simulation, where you’ll have to battle through 30 challenges with your UNSC troops.

The challenges are located in cities and jungles and you’ll need to work out a brand new arsenal of weapons, vehicles and abilities as you go along.

It offers a wealth of improvements over its predecessor, Halo: Spartan Assault, including the introduction of the Warthog, another new vehicle called the Kestrel, the Promeatheans and other tweaks.

The controls have also been tweaked for tablet and smartphone viewing too.

Alongside the campaign, players can also earn Achievements to unlock an exclusive emblem, nameplate and avatar for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

You can also pick up the Halo: Spartan Bundle, which include Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo Spartan Strike in one package.

There’s no UK pricing for Spartan Strike or the Spartan Bundle as yet.
