The latest GTA Online update has arrived offering a new team-based game mode called Capture.
Based on the classic Capture the Flag multiplayer mode, the GTA Online Capture mode will come with the latest free automatic update for Xbox 360 and PS3.
Capture will offer a new way to play in GTA Online, the multiplayer portion of GTA 5, offering new Jobs within four distinct classes of gameplay.
“With 20 new Jobs across four unique modes, this GTA twist on classic capture the flag style confrontations brings a whole new level of adversarial action to the world of Los Santos and Blaine County”, explains Rockstar Games. “Strategy plays a huge role as you run decoys, set traps and place obstacles to ensure your enemies don’t get close to your goods.”
In true Rockstar Games style, the GTA Online Capture mode isn’t about collecting a flag from the opposing team, but will require ferrying around and protecting various parcels or vehicles.
The first of the four modes is Raid, which will ask you to find a way into the opponents’ base and steal a specific package. You’ll then have to deliver it back to your base to score points. To win you must reach the target score or have delivered more packages than the other team when the timer runs down.
Hold is the second Capture mode and requires collecting and storing as many packages as you can within your base. Parcels will be dotted around the map or you can simply steal them from the opposition. Like Raid, the team with the most parcels wins when the timer runs out or it’s the first gang to reach the target score.
With Contend there’s only one package put right in the middle of the map. Whoever manages to get it first will have to get it back to their base. Once this is done, it respawns back in the middle of map for the free for all to start again.
Finally, in the GTA Capture mode you’ll have to steal targeted vehicles scattered around the map and return them to base. The team with the most vehicles at the end wins.
The GTA Online update will also bring a host of game fixes and dynamic tuning updates.
