GTA 5 has unsurprisingly topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart this week after becoming the fastest selling game ever.

Breaking all former records, more copies of GTA 5 have sold in launch week than the figures achieved by all the other GTA titles launch weeks put together.

In fact, GTA 5 sales figures are so large it outsold GTA 4 in launch week 2.4 times over, and beats previous record holding Call of Duty: Black Ops by just under 250,000 units.

With 89 per cent of all game sales this week belonging to GTA 5, the other big new release Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 launched at number two, being rather outshone by the Rockstar Games title.

To put GTA 5 sales into perspective, the other top ten titles put together only amounted to 4 per cent of all sales last week.

At number three is The Last of Us, a previous chart topper, up from number 27 boosted by hardware bundling.

Saints Row 4 was knocked from the top spot this week down to number four, with Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist down a place to number fove.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is a non-mover at number six, while Diablo 3 sank four places down to number seven.

The Skylanders-inspired Disney Infinity is at number five for the week ending September 21, dropping from fifth the week previous.

A re-entry into the top forty is Aliens: Colonial Marines, now residing at number nine following retail promotions for the film-orientated title.

Down from second place is Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix at number 10.

Two Lego titles and Payday 2 were bumped from the top ten this week in the wake of the GTA 5 and PES 2014 releases.

The only other new release this week, Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning, debuted at number 20.
