GTA 5 Stimulus Package sees Rockstar delay free money once again

Rockstar Games has been forced to push back the rollout of the promised free GTA 5 money as the GTA 5 Stimulus Package faces a new round of delays.

With the developer having announced it would offer gamers affected by a raft of early GTA Online problems compensation for their issues in the form of free in-game GTA 5 money, Rockstar has now revealed that the apology has been pushed back due to on-going issues.

“We know many of you are anxiously waiting for us to show you the GTA$ Stimulus Package money we announced a couple weeks back. As mentioned in that post, we of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone,” an official Rockstar spokesperson has stated.

They added: “We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash.”

With the GTA 5 Stimulus Package having originally been confirmed earlier this month, Rockstar revealed that it would provide GTA Online gamers struck by a number of bugs and glitches, including issues which caused lost game data and characters, $500,000 of in-game GTA 5 money each.

Making the announcement two weeks ago, the company originally stated that the in-game compensation would be rolled out during the week beginning October 14. This was later pushed back to the week of October 21 before having now been pushed back once again.

“Given some of the recent technical issues during these first days of GTA Online, and now that things are starting to look much smoother (touch wood!), we are planning to provide a special stimulus package for all who have played or will play Grand Theft Auto Online this month,” Rockstar Games originally stated.

They added: “We will be dropping a cool half a million GTA$ in the GTA Online bank accounts of all players this month, starting as early as next week.”

As much as I want them to fix the in-game bugs before they do this, im sort of disappointed at how long it has been taking to do so :/

Ya know, Rockstar didnt have to do this. They could have just said sorry and leave it at that. You guys are complaining that its taking them so long to give you something for free? Or would you rather have them dump the money into your accound and have it glitch out and lose it all?

What ever happened to companies releasing working products? It used to be if you bought a product and it failed it was a just bad luck. Now you're almost guaranteed to buy a product that doesn't work right away.

In response to Reaper58801, Rockstar doesn't have to give us the stimulus package but they also didn't have to release a faulty product.

Oh yeah COD ghost is gonna take all sales from gta 5 and laugh at how sucky glitched out gta v is (personal opinion)

The people who simply accept faulty products are the reason companies don't care if they produce faulty products. If the car industry was as unreliable as the gaming industry we'd still be riding horses. Your complacency and willingness to take it in the ass is only making the gaming industry less eager to fix its products because they know you won't NOT buy them.

actually you idiot I think they're complaining because they spent $60 on a video game that doesn't even work properly and they were promised something in return for their screw up and are not getting anything when they said they were going to release it 3 times now. if they can make 800 million in 24 hours off of gta and have this many problems with it... it's obvious they don't care about their customers. They almost have to give you an incentive or risk their reputation getting abolished

Well said. The game's glitches are unimportant. People still voluntarily paid and loved the game. At this point any free DLC is a win for the gamer.

Are you stupid? Everyone is OVER COD. It's the same crap every damn time, dude. They're hyping this one up like it's going to be so much different. We've seen stealth FPS games 100 times before. It's going to be nothing groundbreaking, to say the least

500k was promised weeks ago........I want my interest.....Another week and I won't need it.....I haven't cheated or glitched and have all cars/house/guns that I want...The heli will be paid in 2 days....."Day late, dollar short" Rockstar and fix the "Bad sport" system, severely flawed. Delay that til its fixed too.

It is an awesome game, I play and love anyway....but it's not what we paid for. A bike with 2 flat tires is rideable...would you buy it as new?

We love the glitches! Not really, but gta loyalty goes back 15+ years. COD lost me with black ops 1...too easy....60 bucks beat it in an afternoon. Almost a week to beat GTA5..I stopped to eat and sleep once or twice though...lol

They could sell a "finished" product as advertised, that would help. It's not free money....it's to replace money and time lost for those of us that pre-ordered....by the time I get it I wont need it anymore, lol....Already bought most everything and I don't cheat or glitch.

To any of the guys who can't stop whining. If you HATE Rockstar SOOO much, then don't buy GTA 6 when it will be released.(i know non of you will acually be doing this) Singleplayer was playable at launch and online worked fine for the majority of the players after only 3 days. Now the want to make it up to you and you are still complaining?! WTF guys?

All I see is stupid comments -_- am I satisfied the game turned out to be a little hectic, no but I don't know if you realize or not but we moved on from cassette single player games trying to properly manage the amount of online gamers the servers did is more than most of your tiny heads can rap around! Have you not played other games that have had problems? A company hits a bumb and you guys see it as an opportunity to bash on them, stfu go run, go interact physically and wait till this shit is solved.

People are trading the game because of some bugs that have nothing to do with the physical disc/game? Something that is not effecting the single player what so ever? A problem that is with servers that are possibly hundreds of miles from your house?

People want things to whine about. I have the game and I am satisfied.
