GTA 5 PC edition listed on retail sites

The GTA 5 PC version has been listed on several retail websites, despite publisher Rockstar Games stating it is focusing on the console editions.

Officially confirmed for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles by Rockstar Games, a PC version of GTA 5 has appeared on Amazon’s German site and retailer Games Only.

The two listings currently lack a release date, but they suggest that Rockstar may well follow its usual pattern of releasing a GTA 5 PC version a few months later than the console games. For GTA 4, a PC version was released in December 2008, six months after the April console launch.

Listed on the Games Only site as the “Uncut Edition”, this version of the GTA 5 game is said to include a range of bonus items like an art book, world map, additional outfits, exclusive weapons and new stunt plane challenges. However, the listing for the extra content has now been removed.

Rockstar Games has previously said it is choosing to work hard on the console versions of the game, playing down any mentions of a GTA 5 PC release.

“We’re currently focused on Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about the possibility of a PC version at this time,” said a Rockstar spokesperson.

GTA 5 Screenshots

Rockstar has released a selection of twelve new GTA 5 screenshots to further excite fans after last week’s trio of character trailers (see below).

The new screenshots depict some of the more action packed features of the game, showing Trevor, Franklin and Michael as masked villains preparing for a heist for example. The scuba diving functionality also makes another appearance, confirming the rumour that GTA 5 will be the first in the series to introduce underwater sections.

Another screenshot shows the player piloting a Cuban 800 plane over the coastline, while another sees one of the three protagonists parachuting over Blaine County, says Rockstar.

Rockstar Games has confirmed the GTA 5 release date as September 17, so until then fans will have to content themselves with sporadic trailer and screenshot releases.
