GTA 5 for Xbox 360 sold out ahead of launch
With the long awaited GTA 5 release date now just days away, retailers have confirmed that GTA 5 for Xbox 360 has already sold out.
With GTA 5 having already broken the franchise’s pre-order records, and with the game shaping up to be the biggest entertainment launch in history, retail giant Amazon has revealed that it has sold out of the Xbox 360 rendition of the game.
While still listing the game online,
A note on the retailer’s website reads: “Please note–due to high demand, orders placed for Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) from September 13 will be shipped as soon as we receive inventory.”
Earlier this week a number of GTA 5 delay concerns were raised when it emerged publisher Rockstar had banned retailers from shipping GTA 5 pre-orders until the day before its in-store release.
Allowing no safety buffer for shipping issues, the late GTA 5 pre-order delivery could potentially see a number of the million advanced orders fail to hit doorsteps on the game’s September 17 release date.
What’s more, further GTA 5 delays have hit PS3 digital downloads, with promised PSN pre-loads now set to arrive three days later than planned, a delay that will see a considerable strain put on Sony’s online platform.
