All the latest news and reviews from Las Vegas: CES 2012 Special Report

Griffin has unveiled he Twenty, a digital amp which will allow nearly all speakers to be transformed into Airplay speakers.

The Griffin Twenty however requires users to also use an Apple Airport Express in order to convert the Airplay signal from you laptop, Mac or iOS device and send it to your non-Airplay enabled speakers. Clad in glossy white plastic akin to that of many Apple products, the Griffin Twenty is a low profile and lightweight device which wouldn't look out of plae in most living rooms.

"The Griffin Twenty is the easiest, best-sounding solution for consumers who have speakers that are not AirPlay-enabled but still want to stream high-fidelity audio wirelessly,”  said Mark!Rowan, President of Griffin Technology. “Not only can users stream from their iTunes library, they can easily connect with any AirPlay-enabled iOS device.”

The Griffin Twenty comes equipped with a power connection meaning even passive speakers will be able to use the system. It features a 2.1 channel sound system with 20W output per channel and supports a powered subwoofer with an automatic crossover at 80Hz.

Griffin would not reveal anything about the pricing and release date for the Twenty when we asked them here in Vegas so it's a case of wait and see on those fronts.

The Twenty will certainly be something that certain people will find extremely useful, however if you don't have an Airport Express and iOS devices, then it probably won't suit your needs.
