Gresso Slider: a slide-open iPhone case that holds your cards

The end of wallets?

The Gresso Slider is an iPhone case that doubles as a card holder. It's not the first of its kind, but it is one of the neatest, thanks to its natty slide-open mechanism.

It's a smooth action – just push the back panel up and the card section slides out, giving you easy access to your credit cards and/or business cards. Slide the back back down, and it closes with a satisfying click.

Don't worry about your cards being pilfered – it has a patented locking mechanism, so no one can get in. It's also nice and discreet, so unless they're up on their tech, would-be thieves won't know your case contains your cards.

They could still steal your phone of course. But that's the risk you take.

The back of the case is made from aircraft-grade aluminium, and the sliding mechanism is patent pending. The card slot is also aluminium, while the inner shell is TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). If you want a slightly cheaper option, it also comes with a plastic back. Or if you're feeling flush, there's a titanium version – only 100 of these will ever be made, so you'd better be quick.

The aluminium and plastic versions come in three colours: black, rose gold and silver.

It's already passed its $10,000 funding goal and still has 29 days to go. The plastic case can be yours for $49 (£32), while the aluminium starts at $59 (£38) on an early bird. The titanium will set you back $700 (£453) on an early bird, or a cool $1,000 (£648) after. All cases fit the iPhone 6 and 6S, and ship in December.
