Grand Theft Auto: Vice City launches on PSN PlayStation Store

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has launched on the PlayStation Store as part of the PS2 Classics Collection with upgraded graphics and improved colours.

Joining two other iconic chapters of the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, GTA Vice City lets gamers live the story of Tommy Vercetti’s rise to top dog of the criminal underworld during the 1980s.

Originally released on the PlayStation 2, the Miami-based game took a comedy-laced look at the excessive lifestyle of the 1980s and pushed the open world game series firmly into the public’s line of sight. Tommy Vercetti is famously voiced by Ray Liotta and includes often unsubtle references to Scarface and Miami Vice within the pastel pink, blood drenched storyline.

Popular for its cast of colourful characters and distraction filled world, players could enjoy varied and eccentric activities along the Miami coastline or within its drug-fuelled underbelly. This PlayStation Store revival honouring the 10th Anniversary of GTA Vice City is sure to take plenty of fans down memory lane.

Recently reinvented for iOS and Android platforms as an Grand Theft Auto: Vice City app, the port has been criticised for the difficulty of its touchscreen controls. By launching the updated GTA Vice City on PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Store will offer fans a chance to replay the game using a much more appropriate controller.

Rockstar Games has also hinted that there will be more of its original Rockstar titles added to the PS2 Classics Collection on the PlayStation Store soon as Grand Theft Auto 5 rumours reach breaking point. The latest GTA Vice City news comes as GTA 5 rumours suggest that the long awaited GTA 5 release date will be officially unveiled next week on February 5.
