While the developer has yet to release a full list of the upcoming Gran Turismo 6 cars collection, Polyphony spokespeople have also revealed that the title will see gamers able to play across more than 100 track layouts.
With a Gran Turismo 6 release date set for December 6, the PS3 exclusive will introduce a range of new tracks, with both Silverstone and the Goodwood Hill Climb circuit included in the popular, and ultra-realistic racing franchise for the first time.
Although the Gran Turismo 6 release date has been pencilled in for a full week after the UK’s PS4 release date, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has insisted there are no plans to bring the game to Sony’s next-gen console.
Instead, however, Yamauchi has revealed that a Gran Turismo 7 release will be made available for the Xbox One rival in “a year or two.”
With more than 1,200 Gran Turismo 6 cars set for inclusion, Polyphony and Sony have revealed that the game will benefit from a range of new features that will be made available in a post-launch patch release.
As well as adding Course Marker functionality, the gaming partnership has revealed a new GPS Logger feature will allow gamers to use their smartphone’s GPR functions to track their commute and recreate the journey within the game.
“Drivers will be able to record real GPS data from their own car and then recreate the route as a track in the game,” an official statement has revealed. “The ‘GPS Visualizer’ also utilises GPS coordinate data from a real car on the real-life versions of the GT6 circuits. The data can then be imported into GT6 to create a ‘virtual’ replay image of your laps in the game.”
