Google tipped to launch Spotify Chromecast support at Nexus event

Spotify might be the market leader for music streaming, but it’s always been shunned by Google Chromecast.

Fortunately for Spotify and Chromecast users, Google is expected to finally bring the pair together later this month.

According to 9to5Google, leaked internal documents reveal that Spotify support is definitely coming to Chromecast.

Google is preparing a slew of Chromecast announcements for later this month, one of which being Spotify support for Chromecast,” reads the report.

Chromecast already supports a number of streaming services, including Netflix, Pandora, Plex, Rdio, and Google Play Music.

However, it seems Google is now more open to allowing direct competitors to join the Chromecast ecosystem.

The announcement is tipped to be made at a launch event later this month, at which we’re expecting to see two new Nexus phones unveiled.

The handsets in question are an LG-built Nexus 5 and a Huawei-built Nexus 6.

We’ll be reporting on the September 29 event as it happens, so stay tuned to TrustedReviews for the latest on all things Google.

I'm listening to Spotify on Chromecast right now and have been able to for some time, though it breaks occasionally (it used to do break frequently, now only occasionally). By what alchemy am I able to do this?
