Google teases imminent Android M name in music video

Android M

Marshmallow? Maltesers? Milkshake? No-one outside of Google knows what the company’s next mobile OS will be called.

Fortunately, we might not have too long to wait for the big reveal, at least according to a new music video from the company.

Google employees Nat and Lo – who regularly make videos about various projects and developments at the company – posted a new clip to YouTube about Android M.

“It’s about to drop, it’s almost here,” says one line of the frustratingly teasing song.

It’s a colourful video that looks back at the history of Google’s mobile operating systems.

What’s more, it even suggests an excruciatingly lengthy list of possible Android M names, which we’ve rounded up right here:

  • Macadamia Brittle
  • Moon Pie
  • Madeleine
  • Molten Chocolate Cake
  • Milk Duds
  • Marshmallow
  • Marzipan
  • Mango Lassi
  • Milkshake
  • M&M
  • Macaroon
  • Muffin
  • Mousse
  • Meringue
  • Molasses
  • Malt Ball

Google first teased Android M back at this year’s annual I/O developer conference, revealing some of the details about the new software.

The company typically announces its new operating systems in autumn.

It’s expected that Android M will debut on not one, but two Nexus devices this year – the much-rumoured LG Nexus 5 and Huawei Nexus 6.

What do you think Google will call the successor to Android 5.0 Lollipop? let us know in the comments.

Can anyone suggest any
songs (any genre, such as pop, rock, hip hop, standards, country, etc.) featuring
a male and female duet where the singers are having a back and forth
conversation? (Which would most likely be about a relationship, but any topic
would do.)
