Google’s LG Nexus 5 (2015) could be here sooner than we thought

The rumoured LG Nexus 5 (2015) has always been tipped to land in October, but it might be here earlier than we expected.

That’s according to a new report from a South Korean media outlet, which claims that LG – also from South Korea – is eyeing a September 29 release date for the Google tablet.

Google has always launched Nexus devices in October since way back in 2011 with the Galaxy Nexus.

As such, we’d be quite surprised if the company decided to abandon its release cycle.

What could be more likely is that Google may announce the LG Nexus 5 (2015) on September 29, but not make it available for sale until October.

However, Google has yet to confirm any details regarding an upcoming Nexus launch, so we’re still in the dark when it comes to official information.

Whatever the case, it’s very likely that the LG Nexus 5 won’t be the only Nexus device launching this year.

First off, it’s been widely reported that Google is working on a second Nexus device with Chinese manufacturer Huawei.

That’s tipped to be landing as a Nexus 6, although it’s reported to feature a 5.67-inch display – that’s smaller than the 5.9-inch screen on last year’s Nexus 6.

There’s also more recent talk of a Nexus tablet being in the works, specifically the Nexus 8.

The Nexus 8 was originally rumoured to launch last year, following on from the 2nd-gen Nexus 7. Instead, however, Google launched a Nexus 9, skipping an 8-inch device.

We still don’t have any information regarding the manufacturer of the mooted Nexus 8 however, so it’s tough to make any guesses as to the device’s specs or design.
