Google Play Birthday Sale celebration gives you free stuff

Google has introduced “Big Birthday Savings” for the Google Play Store’s 2nd Birthday.

Google Play turned two on March 5, but Google has only just launched its celebratory discounts and freebies to mark the occasion.

“Enjoy Google Play’s second birthday with discounts on in-game purchases for some of our most popular titles,” reads the Google Play’s Second Birthday hub.

A variety of games have been discounted as part of the celebration and in the UK you now have access to a range of free in-app purchases to download for a limited time. So you might want to get them before they’re gone.

For example, you can get up to 50 per cent off a rotating selection of cars for Asphalt 8: Airborne or 50 per cent off all in-app items in zombie game Dead Ahead.

World At Arms fans can get 50 per cent off all offensive power ups or you can adopt a toddler for half price in Sims FreePlay.

There are also some movie discounts to be had in the limited time sale including The Hobbit and The Dark Knight Rises, if you can get past your excitement over the rather bizarre game offerings.

You can also get some tunes for your Android device like The Blueprint by Jay-Z or Prince’s Let’s Go.

Google has yet to announce when the sale will come to an end, so if you fancy any of the special offers you might want to act sooner rather than later.
