Google Pixel C 10.2-inch tablet reportedly coming this year

Google is reportedly planning to announce a new tablet during its Nexus launch event on Tuesday.

According to Android Police sources, the firm will reveal a 10.2in slate, which will go by the name of Pixel C.

The Pixel C will apparently borrow its name and a few features from the company’s line of Chromebook Pixel notebooks.

However, here’s where it becomes confusing. It will run Android Marshmallow, rather than the Chrome OS, but won’t be branded as a Nexus tablet.

Apparently, there will be no hat tip to another manufacturer and, like the Pixel Chromebooks, this will be an entirely Google-branded product.

As the name would suggest, it will feature the same USB Type-C connectivity and will have a pixel resolution of 318ppi.

Android Police says that two keyboard accessories, in aluminum and leather, will accompany the device when tit goes on sale in November.

It’ll also borrow another feature from the Chromebook: the Pixel C will have a light-bar on its rear to display how much juice is left in the battery.

It’s surprising that there's been little word about this device until now, given the numerous Nexus leaks in recent weeks.
