Google Nexus Tablet Images Leaked

Photos claiming to be of the Google Nexus Android tablet have been leaked. They appear to confirm that the Google-branded tablet is made by Asus, of Transformer tablet fame.

An anonymous tipster sent these photos to Phonearena, saying that they are draft press images for the Nexus tablet. The images support many of the rumours we've previously heard about the tablet, including that it'll use a smaller-than-average 7in form, and will be made by Asus. It sports a two-tone design that's not entirely unlike that of the Google Nexus One - the first Nexus phone, from 2010.

The photos also indicate that the tablet will have two cameras, one on the back and another on the front. Although the photos don't reveal any more specs info, the leaker claims the Nexus tablet uses a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and has 1GB of RAM.

Perhaps most interesting of all, though, is the suggestion that the Google Nexus tablet will not use the long-awaited "5.0 Android Jelly Bean" software, but Android 4.1. However, what's in a number? This update may still offer significant feature benefits over the current version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Recent rumours indicate the Google Nexus tablet will sell for around $200 and will launch later this month.
