Google Nexus 7 2 available now in the UK

Google has finally made its Google Nexus 7 2 tablet available to UK customers.

The considerably improved 7-inch tablet can be ordered now from the UK Google Play Store, with prices starting from £199 for the 16GB model and rising to £239 for the 32GB version.

Shipping appears to be free for a limited time, and in addition to the tablet itself, you can also buy the official case. This comes in a single black and grey design and costs £24.99.

August 28 had previously been pegged as the UK release date for the 2013 Nexus 7 by the tablet’s manufacturer, Asus, and it seems the company was right on the money.

In our review of Google’s latest tablet, we concluded that “the Nexus 7 2 is better in almost every single way than its predecessor. It’s slicker, faster and sleeker than any other 7-inch tablet on the market right now.”

A large part of its appeal stems from its 7-inch 1,920 x 1,200 display, which produces a stunning 323ppi. That makes it the sharpest tablet screen on the market, not to mention twice as pixel-rich as the iPad mini.

With a more-than-capable 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and the very latest version of the Andriod OS (Android 4.3) running without any cumbersome modifications, the Nexus 7 2 is a fine performer too.

Besides the UK, the Google Nexus 7 2 is also now available in Germany, France, Spain and Japan.
