More press shots of the Google Nexus 7 2.0 have leaked ahead of its rumoured official unveiling on July 24.
Tipped to be the star of the Google event on July 24 at the company’s Mountain View campus, further press pictures of the Google Nexus 7 2.0 have emerged online.
Coming courtesy of Android Police, the press shots further showcase the new slimmer, longer and thinner version of the Nexus 7.
The dual cameras are clearly visible, with the next-generation Nexus 7 packing a new addition of a 5-megapixel rear camera and the same 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
There’s a notification LED on the Nexus 7 2.0 as well, as seen in the screenshots, and a rather intriguing time stamp of 4:30. Some are suggesting that this is a hint to the presence of Android 4.3 on the Nexus 7 2.0.
Further supporting the previous Google Nexus 7 2.0 press shots leaked earlier this week, the 7-inch tablet seems to have a slimmer bezel around the sides of the screen. However, if you compare the tablet to something like the iPad mini, the top and bottom bezels look very chunky.
Rumoured to come in 16GB and 32GB options, there has been no word as to whether a 4G LTE option will be available. In fact, the press shots don’t include any 3G cellular data icons at all.
The Nexus 7 2.0 is also tipped to get a screen upgrade. Retaining the same 7-inch dimensions, the resolution should get bumped up to 1920 x 1200p HD.
Earlier in the week, the Nexus 7 2.0 appeared in the Carphone Warehouse UK inventory list with both the 16GB and 32GB options available.
The Google event is being held by Google’s Head of Android, Sundar Pichai, where the search engine giant is pegged to unveil its second-generation 7-inch slate alongside the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The event kicks off at 9am PST, which is 5pm for UK Google hardware fans.
