Google Nexus 6 will be water-resistant just like Moto X

Motorola has confirmed that its Nexus 6 will be water resistant just like the Moto X.

Google’s kept quiet on whether the Nexus 6 will hold up against an occasional splashing, with the device’s product page making no mention of the feature.

Head over to Motorola’s page for the Nexus 6 however and you’ll find a firm ‘Yes’ under the water-resistance category.

It’s worth noting that this does not mean the Nexus 6 will be waterproof, so don’t go chucking it in a swimming pool any time soon.

While some devices, for instance the Sony Xperia Z3, tout complete submergibility, the Nexus 6 is more equipped to fend off some light British drizzle.

Google announced its new Nexus 6 last night, revealing a 5.9-inch device built by Motorola and packing the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Inside you’ll find a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, just like the Galaxy Note 4, as well as a 3220mAh battery and an OIS-toting 13-megapixel rear-shooter.

Despite the launch of the new flagship mobile, Google says it’s still going to keep flogging the slightly teenier Nexus 5, although without bumped-up specs.

If you’re keen to pick up the new device, you’ll be able to throw down some pre-order cash starting October 17, with store shelves seeing the product on November 3.
