A hands-on Google Nexus 5 video has leaked ahead of the phone’s formal unveiling later this month, with the Google Nexus 4 follow-on shown off in all its glory.

Believed to be an early prototype of the upcoming smartphone, Android 4.4 operating system">the leaked Google Nexus 5 video shows a handset running the upcoming Android 4.4 operating system. Highlighting the early development nature of the leaked phone, the software is listed under the moniker of Key Lime Pie, the name given to the OS prior to a deal with KitKat.

Although showing of a phone that has leaked on a number of occasions as the Google Nexus 5, the handset within the hands-on video goes not sport the Nexus branding seen in a selection of prematurely outed images.

With a run time of a little over seven minutes, the Google Nexus 5 video offers a detailed look at the phone, with the thin handset shown from all angles and views. Based on the footage, the Google Nexus 5 will sport an oversized camera lens, base-mounted speakers and a simple, matt effect body.

With LG believed to be the manufacturing partner for Google’s next own-branded handset, it had been suggested that the device would run an edge-to-edge display similar to that found on the LG G2. The leaked video, however, has pictures a smartphone with a standard 5-inch Full HD screen.

While showing off the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S rival, the Google Nexus 5 video has offered few new insights into the phone’s components.

Based on recent rumours, the Google Nexus 5 specs sheet will see a speedy 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor feature alongside 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera and the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Although Google has yet to make any official announcement, it is believed that a Google Nexus 5 release date could be held as early as this Tuesday, October 15.
