Google for iOS update brings maps and animated GIFs to search

by

google app

Google has updated its iOS app with a number of new features.

First off, it’s now possible to leave reviews for your favourite local places directly through the app.

What’s more, iOS users will now be able to add photos for those local establishments – an impressive hotel exterior or a tasty restaurant dish.

Google has also made it easier to find the location of places you’re searching for through the app.

That’s thanks to the introduction of map results that now show up in the app when you search for an address.

Finally, Google has also added support for animated GIFs in the app.

That means that animated GIFs now play when you’re searching for Image results – you’ll need to click them first, mind.

The updated app, which is listed as Version 9.0, is available to download right now as a 79.7MB file.

The new update comes just weeks after the launch of Apple’s new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

To access the new app, you’ll need to be running iOS 7.0 or later.
