Gold Samsung Galaxy S5 exclusive to Vodafone

Vodafone has announced that the gold Samsung Galaxy S5 will be exclusive to the network provider.

If you fancy picking up the gold Galaxy S5 you’ll have to head to Vodafone, as it will be a Vodafone exclusive from launch.

From March 28, you’ll be able to pre-order the gold Galaxy S5 and all three other colours (blue, black and white) from Vodafone, guaranteeing you a handset on the April 11 Galaxy S5 release date.

“We’ve evolved the design with the Galaxy S5 so that it follows on naturally from the Galaxy S4, but we’ve also introduced some new elements,”said James White, Samsung Mobile’s head of IM strategy and mobile product marketing. “We’ve focused on a ‘modern glam’ look for our design inspiration for the new Galaxy S5. That’s represented in the four colours we’ve got available, as well as the introduction of texture.”

We’re not quite taken with the gold S5 ourselves, but let us know what you think in the comments below.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Features
The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.01-inch screen running Android 4.4 KitKat, overlaid with the latest Samsung Touchwiz UI.

It is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and comes equipped with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. You’ll also get microSD card support up to 64GB.

Water- and dust-resistant, the Galaxy S5 has a plastic body with a new “perforated” rear panel design and comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera. One of the key selling points for the S5’s camera is its speedy 0.3-second auto focusing time.

There is also a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera for all your selfie needs.

The Galaxy S5 also features a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button, similar to that offered with the iPhone 5S. It also has a heart rate monitor fitted below the rear camera, which works with the new Samsung S Health app.
