Get any album half-price on Google Play Music

Google is offering a deal whereby you can download any one album for half its normal price.

It’s the season for great deals, of course, but this one will appeal to those who still like to own their digital music rather than streaming it on demand.

Head on over to Google Play Music – essentially Google’s version of iTunes – and you’ll be able to get 50 percent off any one album.

In truth, this isn’t quite the unique end-of-year deal it might look like. In fact, Google ran exactly the same deal as part of a suite of Google Play offers around Black Friday and Cyber Monday at the end of November.

Still, it’s an appealing offer. As we’ve mentioned, it’s good for those who like to own their music, but it’s also handy if you prefer to use iTunes or some other specific media player to handle your tracks and playlists. Just download the album from Google Play Music and add it to the relevant library.

We’d recommend going for a double album if you want to wring the most value out of the offer, as it could see you saving £7.49.

While we’re on the subject of Google’s audio offering, remember that you can currently buy the Chromecast Audio (or the Chromecast 2 for that matter) for £25, which is a saving of £5.
