Amazon has slashed the price of Crucial’s 750GB MX300 SATA SSD, making it one of the best value storage buys we’ve seen this year.
First, the headline features you need to know: Amazon had, until today, been selling the MX300 for £162 and it’s now down to £106, a whopping £56 saving. That’s an extremely low price and one you’ll rarely see for a 750GB SSD. There’s never been a better excuse to swap your laptop hard disk for a speedy, high-capacity SSD or pack a speedy SSD into your Xbox One or PS4.
In our Best SSD round-up, we gave the Crucial MX300 7/10. Keep in mind that this was for the 500GB version that was £119 at the time of review. The one on sale here is cheaper and has a higher capacity. It’s a great deal, and one some of the TrustedReviews team have already taken up.

“Its price is attractive, its endurance rating is better than both rivals, and it’s a little larger than those too. It won’t break speed records, but this is a reliable, affordable SSD.”
What owners say
The MX300 has an average 4.8/5 rating on Amazon, based on 127 customer reviews. Most reviews talk about the difference between their crusty old hard disk, so there are unsurprisingly quite a lot of happy people.
“The difference this SSD has made is amazing. Boot times in almost half the time. Everything is much faster.”
“Turned my ageing HP Desktop into a new machine!”
“Maybe not the fastest drive in the world but I think that is reflected in the price. Saying that it still feels quick enough for my use playing the latest PC games.”
