Gears of War 4 coming holiday 2016 for Xbox One

Gears of War 4 is coming sometime during the holiday 2016 period, Microsoft has confirmed

The long-awaited Gears of War 4 announcement has finally arrived. Taking to the stage during the Xbox E3 2015 press conference, the game was shown off with a live gameplay demonstration.

Two brand new Gears of War characters are exploring an abandoned city when an electric storm strikes, blowing over walls and buildings in front of them.

The two must go underground to survive, guided by the light of their torches – mounted of course on their chainsaw guns.

While underground though they realise that they’re not alone and are surrounded by glowing tentacles. When the chap touches one of them, he finds his torch gets shortcircuited and he’s covered in glowing goo.

The pair must then navigate through the corridors while avoiding the glowing pods, following them to its source.

Its then they realise that they’re about to be attacked, with a dog-like creature leaping from the shadows with a mouth full of wriggling tendrils.

The Gears of War 4 announcement was complimented by the reveal of Gears of War Ultimate Edition.

This bundle brings the three original Gears of War titles to Xbox One in 1080p full HD and at a smooth 60fps framerate.

The beta for the collection is happening this week, but you’ll be able to get your hands on the Ultimate Collection this Christmas.
