If history is anything to go by, more of your favourite Game of Thrones characters will perish during Season 6, which commences on Sunday.
However, we now know for sure there’ll be enough goodies and baddies left to fill another year of death and deception, as the show has been officially renewed for 2017.
The news, which will come as a surprise to absolutely no-one, was confirmed via the Game of Thrones official Twitter account on Thursday.

However, while GoT will be back for a 7th season next year, it’s unlikely to be a regular 10-episode series.
In an interview with Variety last week, David Benioff claimed there may only be 13 episodes left after the forthcoming 10-part season.
He said: “I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season,”
“We’re heading into the final lap. That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that’s what we’re looking at.”
As a result, seasons 7 and 8 are likely to be shorter.
