Samsung Galaxy Note 6? Don’t count on it – new information leaks
Samsung is struggling to keep a lid on Galaxy Note 6 leaks – or perhaps that’s Note 7?
Fresh information about the Galaxy Note 7 has turned up online, once again courtesy of prolific leaker and journalist Evan Blass. The tipster has posted three tweets, revealing possible truths about Samsung’s next major phablet launch.
The first tweet suggests that the new phone will be called the Galaxy Note 7 after all. That’s in contrast to the general expectation that this year’s Note phone would be called the Note 6, as it’s directly succeeding the Note 5. However, we’ve seen plenty of speculation that Samsung wants to bring its Note branding in line with the Galaxy phone series, the latest of which is the Galaxy S7.

The second tweet claims that the phone will boast an iris scanner, another feature that has already been heavily rumoured.

And the third tweet was arguably the most substantial, reeling off a list of Galaxy Note 7 specs, that included:
- 5.7-inch screen
- QHD Super AMOLED display
- 64GB storage
- MicroSD slot
- 12-megapixel (Dual Pixel) primary camera
- 5-megapixel secondary camera
- IP68 waterproof/dustproof body
- Colour options: Black, Silver, and Blue

Of course, bear in mind that while Evan Blass is generally reputable, there’s no way we can verify his information in this instance. As such, take this report with due caution.
Samsung is expected to announce its new Galaxy Note 7 at a dedicated launch event in New York on August 2. Naturally however, Samsung has yet to announce such information publicly.
